When I walked into a recent client’s home – I knew this project would be different. Their home was anything but typical – it was full of style, carefully curated and oh so organized – in short, it was my kind of drool worthy. Their master was broken up into two rooms – the literal bed room and tiny bedroom turned closet room. This division works on so many levels but is rarely realistic. Fortunately for them, this situation worked perfectly and as I stared at their Ikea Pax lined walls, I wondered how we’d possibly even need the initial de-cluttering session.
Two decent contractor sized garbage bags later, and their space was sufficiently pared down – because even the tidiest of spaces can use a good seasonal purge.
In the design plan, the goal was to elevate the space from something that was basic, to a well curated grown up space that reflected their laid-back style.
The nightstands are light but substantial in size – an important thing to note when shopping for bedside tables that will flank an upholstered bed. I love the look of a wall sconce in a bedroom. I also love this one but this one from Urban Outfitters comes in at a lower price tag and the white softens the brass.
The chair is black leather and is equal parts sexy and grounded.
I can’t wait to see how this space comes together.
